Mix & rest the dough
A simple dough, mixed in small batches and given time to rest so it bakes up light and chewy.
Our story
Mount Royal Bagel Factory has been a Kelowna favourite for years. We're a small, family-run shop on Sutherland Ave, and every morning starts with mixing, rolling and baking.
What we make is simple: Montreal-style bagels, hand-rolled right here in Kelowna, plus eight cream cheeses whipped up in-house, sandwiches piled high, a pot of soup or chili, and good coffee.
Regulars know to come early — popular flavours sell out. Whether you're grabbing a half dozen on the way to work or settling in on the patio, we're glad you're here.
Come say hi. — The Mount Royal family

How it's made
No shortcuts. This is how a real bagel gets its chew.

A simple dough, mixed in small batches and given time to rest so it bakes up light and chewy.

Every bagel is rolled by hand — that's why no two are exactly alike, and why they taste the way they do.

A quick dip in boiling water sets the crust. It's the step that gives a real bagel its chew.

Into the oven until deep golden, then straight into the case. Come early and they might still be warm.
